Cassidy R. Nelson, Ph.D.

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I am an assistant professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Ohio University, and a first-generation student from Kansas.
I am a Human Factors Engineer studying human-centered computing, HCI, and cognitive engineering in the context of Augmented Reality (AR) technologies and games for learning, emergency response, rehabilitation, and bias busting.
I completed my dissertation defense in the Summer of 2024. I obtained my master's degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics at Virginia Tech (2021) and my bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Kansas (2017).
Look for stars! I'm particularly proud of those accomplishments.
My interdisciplinary research tackles real-world human-computer interaction challenges in learning, emergency response, rehabilitation, education, and bias reduction using augmented reality, UX, and serious games.
Check out my Google Scholar for a full list of my published work! Always more coming, so keep an eye out.
